Tomika Reid is a resilient native of Brooklyn, New York who is passionate about inspiring others.

As a mom of two daughters and a self-published author, Tomika has experienced countless trials and tribulations, yet she remains strong and standing; a true testament to the power of perseverance.

After experiencing the loss of her mom, sister, grandmother, and the fathers of both her first and second daughters, Tomika was heartbroken and often considered giving up. But she found strength and inspiration from the love of her daughters and her faith in God, which motivated her to keep pushing forward.

Tomika's first book, "Nicolli and the Shining Star," was written to help children cope with the loss of a loved one. Inspired by the tragic loss of her daughters' fathers, Tomika self-published this book to help other children and their families dealing with a similar loss.

But Tomika didn't stop there. After receiving encouragement to share her own story, she self-published her second book, a memoir titled "Beyond the Tears I've Cried, Here I Am Still Standing." This deeply personal work is a powerful reflection of Tomika's journey through grief and loss, and an inspirational call to never give up, no matter how difficult life becomes.

Tomika is a multifaceted author and inspirational figure making waves across the country.

Her work has been recognized by The Association of Black Educators of New York, who awarded her a Certificate of Appreciation for presenting at the General Membership Meeting in November 2014. Since then, she's gone on to conduct a literary workshop in Brooklyn and make appearances on various podcasts and TV shows such as Atlanta Live, Energy Toss Radio Show, and The G Wade Radio Show.

Tomika is also passionate about giving back to her community. She conducted a reading at the Atlanta Children's Shelter and has read at several libraries and daycare centers in Brooklyn and Atlanta. Her writing has graced the pages of VoyagerATL Magazine, The Source Magazine, and The Spin Awards Magazine, where she contributed regularly.

In March 2020, Tomika self-published her third book titled "Inspire Your Way Through the Storm," a guidebook filled with quotes and poems designed to help readers overcome adversity and emerge stronger. In December 2020, she followed it up with her fourth book, "Suzie Sings, This is the Color," a colorful children's book to help little ones learn their colors in a fun and engaging way.

Tomika's latest achievements include a feature in a 2022 Associated Press story, appearances on NewsNation's Morning in America, and an article in The Monty News. She aspires to turn her memoir, "Beyond the Tears I've Cried, Here I am Still Standing," into a movie one day.
